Job Title : Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary :

Responsible for diagnoses, treatment, and consultation, performing independently or as a part of a team. Educate patients about prescribed treatments and preventative care.

Conduct patient exams, perform physicals, order tests, prescribe medications and serve as a primary healthcare provider or as an entry point into a multi-disciplinary medical practice.

Part Time - 2 days / week

Nurse Practitioner Role and Responsibilities :

  • Admit patients into the Orthopedics Surgery program and / or Urgent Care program.
  • Perform history and physicals for all new patients admitted into the programs.
  • Diagnose conditions and plan appropriate care plans.
  • Conduct patient clinics independently and in support of the programs.
  • Prescribe and order diagnostic tests, medications, and interventional procedures.
  • Refer patients for surgical consultation when necessary.
  • Prescribe and refer to ancillary services, including but not limited to, physical therapy, massage. therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, aquatic therapy, personal training program.
  • Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, treatment types, preventative care.
  • Participate in on call rotation for the practice.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, and ensure cohesiveness for support staff, including but not limited to the MA's, billers, collectors, and front office staff.

Nurse Practitioner Required Qualifications :

  • Master's or doctoral degree program from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2 years in an operating room setting experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current APRN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
