A privately owned renewable energy company, dedicated to providing innovative solutions that help customers reduce their carbon footprint and manage energy costs, is seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs to join their legal team.

This role will focus on managing the company's regulatory and legislative strategies, particularly in the Northeastern region of the United States.

The Director will be responsible for ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, advocating for clean energy policies, and building relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to serve as a key player in advancing the company's clean energy initiatives and aligning business operations with public policy.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and execute the company's regulatory and legislative strategy in key markets.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory proceedings and legislation that impact business operations.
  • Advocate for the company's interests by engaging with elected officials, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Provide updates to internal teams on regulatory changes and their potential impact.
  • Represent the company in trade associations and industry groups.
  • Manage relationships with external contract lobbyists, outside counsel, and trade organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business strategies with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and pursue state-level incentives for renewable energy and clean energy technologies.

Qualifications :

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public policy, regulatory, or legal roles, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Strong ability to interpret regulatory developments and craft advocacy strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
