Job Description
Operations Manager
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Operations Manager. The ideal candidate must have 4 or more years experience Ground Delivery Driver;
and 4 years management experience in trucking / transportation. As an Operations Manager you will work closely with our drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.
The manager will make deliveries and learn each route. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for the management in the delivery business.
Responsibilities :
- Keep service above 99.5%
- Ensure 100% pickups are completed in the window
- NO DNA Packages
- Keeping disputed packages to a minimum by monitoring and retraining drivers - Goal is less than 2 a week.
- Ensure that the company has professional drivers and accident free
- Keeping the team productive. Breaking down routes and not running unnecessary trucks.
- Keep cost low - changing light bulbs, wiper blades;
- Handle driver issues professionally, firmly and fairly
- Checking all keys to make sure each truck has a bulk door and back door keys
- Check and clean dash, windshield and sweep out all trucks (train the drivers to do this and you check)
- Monthly Maintenance Report -(MMR) turn in by the 15th of each month to P & D manager
- Ability to Learn each Work areas
- Must be able to work an work area if needed
- Find disputed packages ( create a process to reduce disputes)
- Ensure all VERDS KPI's are 100%
Experience :
- Knowledge of how to scan packages; apply delivery status codes;- Ability to work well in a team environment- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries- Strong attention to detail to accurately handle and deliver goods.
- The ability to Multi-Task and handle pressure situations
