Putnam Investments , a Specialized Investment Manager (SIM) of Franklin Templeton, is a diversified, equity-only asset manager with roots dating back to 1937.

About the Opportunity

The Equity Associate will provide dedicated support for two Portfolio Managers. This position is an early career level position for new or recent college graduate and offers a great career start for creative, hard-working, self-driven and passionate individuals where you will learn about investing through researching companies and their industries.

This position will be in Dallas, Texas and offers a hybrid work schedule.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this role?

Build, update, and maintain financial models for owned names and new stock ideas.

Assist with the gathering, synthesizing, and organization of large amounts of stock-specific / industry information (e.g.

listening to earnings calls, conference transcripts, etc.) with the goal of helping PMs stay up to date on news flow / fundamental changes regarding portfolio holdings.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Ideal candidates will have 0-2 years of work experience in a related field with BA or BS degree. Candidates with superior undergraduate academic records from all majors are encouraged to apply.

Self-driven individuals who thrive in an autonomous environment and are excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, while serving as a fiduciary to Putnam’s shareholders.

Prior work experience in the financial industry is helpful but not necessary. We are looking for a demonstration of passion that can be applied to investing.

Ability to learn quickly and to effectively convey conclusions.

Team player; additive to overall process with positive attitude, leadership by example, and active involvement at all levels to advance the investment dialogue.

Compensation Range : Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks.

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation.

The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $50,000 to $70,000, plus a discretionary bonus.
