Travel Art Teacher-Nassau County, NY

$40-50 hourly - we pay for prep and travel time

We have developed a proprietary art educational system that blends a fun and interactive social dynamic, with an innovative method that focuses on contemporary art education.

We are expanding our art programs and extending them outside our walls to reach even more students.

Qualifications / Requirements :

1+ years of experience teaching studio art classes

BFA or BS Art Education

Your own reliable vehicle (you will need it to transport yourself and art materials to the locations you will teach in)

A passion for One River School's mission that exudes from every pore

A burning desire to bring art into the lives of students of all ages

Already fingerprinted and background checked, or willing to complete fingerprinting and background check prior to being hired

We are looking for part time instructors for regular part-time hours (1- 2 days per week after 2 : 30pm) to teach a variety of fun, engaging proprietary art classes and travel to off-site locations to deliver the classes.

Classes include the following subjects :

Drawing

Painting

Sculpture

Our curriculum is innovative, vibrant and fun and our teachers love to deliver it and watch their students blossom. This position is a key one that will bring our unique art education program to students outside of our school locations.

This role acts as an ambassador for One River and requires a positive, highly motivating individual who can transform any environment into the coolest art space for a wide variety of students.

Ideal candidates are thoughtful educators who possess a proven track record of delivering compelling, engaging and fun student centric experiences in the classroom.

Ideal candidates pride themselves on being always prepared and are team players who are open to ideas and feedback and whose focus is on student development and inclusion.

Hours will be primarily in the weekday afternoons at after school programs in public and private schools. You’ll be reimbursed for your travel mileage and paid for prep and clean up time.

Locations will vary but will be within Nassau County, NY. The number of hours and days you work are flexible depending on your availability and the number of outside classes being booked.

You may also be given the chance to teach at a One River School location if you would like additional hours.
