Monday-Friday 8 am to 4 : 30 pm

$5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Responsibilities

UnityPoint Clinic Weight Loss is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals through comprehensive weight management programs.

Our team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, dietitians, and nurses, work together to provide personalized care to each patient.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.

The Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) in our Weight Loss Clinic will play a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their weight loss journey.

This position involves providing direct patient care, education, and support, as well as collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

• Function as a clinician, educator and resource for patients, both in person and via the patient portal.
• Triage incoming patients ensuring compliance with established admission / acceptance criteria for bariatric surgery.
• Prepare patient for provider visits, which includes history taking, vital sign measurement and medication reconciliation.
• Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
• Preauthorize care, procedures and medications with insurance companies.
• Coordinate care and testing needs for the patient.
• Complete necessary forms for referrals and FMLA.
• Provide ongoing care and education post-op for the patient.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and patient education abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
