Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : Under the direction of the nurse,performs basic patient care related tasks that contributes to themaintenance of a safe and comfortable patient environment.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High schoolgraduate or equivalent. Successful completion of Nursing Assistantcourse within one year.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : BLScertification required. Specialty certifications as required byeach unit.
SKILLS : Must be able to pass skills competency checklist asrequired by each unit. Must be able to read, speak andwrite English fluently.
EXPERIENCE : Six months in ahealthcare related field preferred.

Responsible to : Director / Manager, Nursing Unit

Bloodborne pathogens - B
Works irregular hours. Multiplesimultaneous activities around patient care. Exposure to infectiousdiseases and x-rays. Subject to varying unpredictablesituations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to handle emergency / crisis situations,prolonged, extensive or considerable standing / walking.
Hasknowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Frequently lifts,positions, pushes and / or transfers patients or equipment.
Hearingand visual acuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and finemotor coordination required.
