Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President of Sales to lead our global sales efforts in the competitive and evolving book publishing industry.
The SVP of Sales will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and maximizing profitability across all channels.
This position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the publishing landscape, exceptional sales management skills, and a proven track record of successfully achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve annual revenue targets and market share goals.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing international sales team, providing guidance, motivation, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, retailers, and other industry stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, editorial, and production teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to identify new business opportunities and product strategies.
- Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with major accounts and distributors to ensure profitable partnerships.
- Implement effective sales forecasting, reporting, and budgeting processes to track performance metrics and optimize resource allocation.
- Drive innovation in sales techniques, processes, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements :
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the book publishing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Deep understanding of distribution channels, retail operations, and market dynamics within the publishing industry.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with CRM software and other sales management tools.
- Ability to travel as needed.
