As a Critical Care technician you will work closely with our Criticalists to provide excellent patient care, perform diagnostics, and communicate with the clients of critical care patients.
Working with our Critical Care team offers the opportunity to expand upon your knowledgebase and skillset. The Critical Care team also works closely with the Emergency team to collaborate on patient care for hospitalized patients.
We are looking for a skilled technician with experience in Emergency or Critical Care who is patient focused and team oriented.

Position Overview :
Critical Care Veterinary Technicians support hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients.
You will assist in providing patient care, conducting examinations, assisting during sedated procedures, patient care for in-patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
What youll do :
- Obtaining vitals, blood pressure, ECG, and other monitoring parameters
- Monitoring hydration status, administering CRIs, setting up IV fluids with multiple lines, etc.
- Phlebotomy
- Perform in-house laboratory testing
- Medical records
- Provide client education such as discharge instructions, medication dosing and side effects, updates on hospitalized pets, etc
- Ability to place intravenous catheters, central line placement and care
- Transfusion therapy including blood typing and cross matching
- Feeding tube care and maintenance
- Placement of male / female urinary catheters
- Prepare patients for ultrasounds and other radiology procedures
- Record and deliver organized rounds
- Communicate with other departments to synchronize treatment plans and provide adequate nursing for each case
- Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
- Performing treatments on hospitalized patients including the administration of medications by various routes
Who you are :
- Registered Veterinary Technician license holder
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- At Least 2 years in an ER / Specialty hospital
Schedule :
4x10 hour shifts including 1 weekend day
Pay Range$24$30 USD
