In this role you will encourage communityparticipation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships for theindividuals we serve.
Your efforts will directly contribute totheir social integration and overall wellbeing.
KeyResponsibilities :
- CommunityParticipation : Encourage community participation andfacilitate the cultivation of friendships for individualsserved.
- Guidance andSupport : Provide guidance on social judgment healthand safety and daily living activities to support communityintegration.
- Transportation : Arrange transportation to and from communityoutings.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of services rendered reflectingprogress outcomes andgoals.
- Training andMeetings : Attend staff training and meetings asscheduled.
- AdditionalDuties : Perform other duties asassigned.
Qualifications :
- Education : Highschool diploma required; Associate or bachelors degreepreferred.
- Experience : Minimum of one year of technical / paraprofessional experienceworking with individuals with IDD; an equivalent combination ofexperience and training isacceptable.
- Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills organizationalskills.
- Requirements : Reliable transportation valid Alabama drivers license and abilityto pass preemployment screening.
PhysicalRequirements :
- Mobility : Frequentstanding walking hand dexterity reaching with hands and armsclimbing or balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling andspeaking andlistening.
- Vision : Must have close vision distance vision color vision and depthperception.
- Lifting : Frequent lifting and / or moving more than 100pounds.
- Sitting : Occasional sitting required.
