PrimaryDutiesandResponsibilities(For Non-exempt EmployeesIncludePercentofEffort) :
Recognizesdeviationsfromnormalin the physicalassessment.Works incollaborationwith a physicianin formulatingtreatmentplans for healthproblemsand follow-up.
Writesprescriptions formedication,bloodproductsbaseduponlaboratoryresults,routinediagnosticand follow-upstudies,therapeuticmeasures, and post-dischargecarein accordancewithwrittenpracticeprotocols.
Initiatesandfacilitatesclinicalresearchprotocols andcoordinatespatientcarewithresearchstaff.
Obtainscompletemedicalhistoryindependent ofsupervision by thephysician.
Ordersappropriatelaboratorytests accordingto practiceguidelines.
Develops,implementsand evaluates a plan ofcarethatisappropriate forthepatient andfamily.
Activelyparticipates in qualityassuranceprograms andpeerreview activities.
Responsiblefor providingassistancetophysiciansin thecare and treatmentof patients.
Providesmedicalsupport tostaff,triagingandimplementingcare ina knowledgeableand skillfulmanner,as evidencedby teamfeedbackand documentation in medicalrecords.
Administersnursingassessments to includeperformingexaminations,givinginjectionsandassessing a patient'shealthstatus.
Assessseverity of patient'scondition,determininganddirectingpatientsto appropriatemedicalproviders.

WorkExperienceRequirements(EssentialRequirements) :
Minimum of two years experience working with radiation oncology patients preferred.
