  • Healthcare Setting : Inpatient Cardiac ICU (24 beds)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (Day / Night)\n
  • Hours : 36 hours per week\n
  • Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 5 / 2025 – End : 1 / 3 / 2026)\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n
  • Holiday Requirement : 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's; includes day before, day of, and day after)\n
  • Floating : First to float to other ICUs, Stepdown, Progressive Care, IMC, and Telemetry units\n
  • EMR : Epic\n
  • Scrubs : Navy blue pants and solid navy-blue or white tops\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Virginia RN License or Compact RN License (Virginia nursing jobs)\n
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU, CCU, or CVICU experience\n
  • Recent competency (within last 6 months) in advanced cardiac therapies : VV / VA ECMO, IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps), TTM / Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter Guided Therapy\n
  • Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips\n
  • Experience managing and titrating cardiac / vasoactive drips\n
  • Strong clinical skills and adaptability to float to related units\n

    • \n\nICU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver expert nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions : cardiogenic shock, STEMI, cardiac arrest, advanced heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-procedural management (IR / PCI, TEVAR)\n
  • Utilize advanced cardiac support modalities and therapies\n
  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status\n
  • Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications\n
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes\n
  • Float to other ICU and stepdown units as needed\n
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR\n
  • Participate in floor orientation (2 shifts provided)\n
