Description

The Sr. Reimbursement Analyst will support activities related to data collection, reconciliation, analysis and reporting for the client data management and reporting team.

This position will assist with implementing best practices focusing on improved data analytics, reporting standardization, and continuous process improvement.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Performs data reconciliation and validation processes
  • Ensures client data integrity in key internal systems as well as maintaining the process to support the data management and reporting team
  • Analyze and resolve data integrity issues and manage revisions as needed to best meet internal and customer requirements
  • Manipulates and analyzes client data from internal system sources
  • Actively involved in efforts to assess, recommend, troubleshoot, and validate results
  • Communicates findings in an understandable and actionable manner
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in life science, information science, finance or related discipline required
  • Master's degree in related discipline preferred

Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years in data analytics
  • Minimum of 3 years inpatient revenue cycle experience
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau preferred
  • Experience with ICD-10 and DRG assignments preferred

Licensure and / or Credentials :

AHIM Medical Coding Certificate preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Proven and demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of electronic health record and ICD encoder applications
  • Knowledge of inpatient reimbursement terms and methodologies
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Conceptual understanding of data flows
  • Proven and demonstrated advanced skills in the Microsoft Suite applications
  • Excel to include functions to effectively analyze and organize data (Vlookup, Xlookup, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-directed and motivated with strong analytical skills, systematic and orderly planning abilities, and a high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage time and tasks to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Independent, focused individual able to work remotely or on-site
