The County of San Mateo Airports Division is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Airport Business Analyst.
This is a Departmental Promotional Only recruitment. Only current County of San Mateo employees in the Department of Public Works with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, Confidential or Management extra-help / limited term, or SEIU or AFSCME represented extra help / limited term position prior to the final filing date may apply.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Assistant Airport Manager, this role is responsible for a variety of key functions, including negotiating and preparing commercial lease agreements, managing Requests for Proposals, and overseeing vendor contracts.
- An important aspect of this position is the development and oversight of the annual airport budget with a focus on strategic planning.
- The Analyst will maintain a detailed database of business / commercial agreements and account receivables, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Additionally, the role involves maintaining current real property appraisals, overseeing significant contracts, and managing documentation related to FAA and Caltrans grants.
- The selected candidate will also be responsible for maintaining airport consultant agreements, tracking and reporting Based Aircraft to the FAA as needed, and ensuring adherence to airport business standards and policies.
- This role includes selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating the airport administrative staff, as well as performing various related duties as assigned.
- Through these functions, the Airport Business Analyst plays a vital role in contributing to the economic development and operational efficiency of the airports.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.
- A typical way to qualify is : Experience : At least three years of experience in managing airport business agreements, ensuring compliance with aviation rules and regulations, vendor contact management, and drafting commercial lease agreements, along with preparing related documents for Board of Supervisor approval.
- Education : Equivalent graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in aviation management, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
