We are currently seeking a Water Systems Technician to join our team based out of our Eden Prairie, MN location in our production facility.
This role will report to the Compounding Supervisor and work onsite five days during our first shift, which runs Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM.
Job Purpose
This role will contribute to the success of our customers by maintaining water systems used in manufacturing
facilities and sanitization that meet all quality parameters in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities and Job Duties
1. Ensures water system equipment used for manufacturing and facilities is properly maintained and always
operational.
- Follows all water system SOP's and GMP's to ensure functionality.
- Partners with Quality Department to write new water system SOPs as needed.
- Reports to Quality Department the status of sanitization systems
- Immediately reports and investigates water system equipment failures.
- Performs weekly and monthly water system cleaning events.
- Creates work orders for water systems repairs.
- Replace water system parts or contact vendors for part replacements.
- Adheres to all pertinent OSHA and company safety guidelines.
2. Manage bulk Compounding inventory system.
- Accurately update bulk inventory system, including bulk chems in totes
- Cycle count and order cleaning and sanitization chemicals
- Order supplies for Compounding
3. Compounding duties as determined by day-to-day business needs.
- Timely and accurately weighing or adding chemicals to batches in process to produce fillable material for production.
- Accurately answers questions regarding transferring of product, interpreting formulas and operation of
equipment for customer audits and R&D pilot batches / equipment validation.
4. Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.
- Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
- Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.
- Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.)
5. Other work as assigned.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
- Requires at least one year of experience in chemical handling.
- Requires at least one year of experience with RO / DI water systems.
- Prior mixing experience is a plus.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Licenses and Certifications : Forklift license is required and must be maintained.
Knowledge Requirements
This position requires specific knowledge of chemical handling and processing. This person needs to understand or be capable of learning the process of weighing and adding various chemicals.
The position also requires an understanding of mixing tanks and various auxiliary equipment. Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication, is necessary.
A person must be able to use material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scales.
Work Requirements
This position often requires work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway.
IT has a moderate to high demand for physical activity.
Physical Requirements
Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and
grasping.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
- Frequent (4 to 6 hours per day) lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Sensory requirements : Good eyesight, normal hearing, and fluent in the English language
Working Conditions :
- Indoors, generally with occasional outdoors exposure
- Will be exposed to various fragrances, ammonia, or other strong odors which at times may be elevated
levels.
- Will be working with alcohol and other flammable materials.
- Ability to utilize stairs and ladders.
- Ability to respond and adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Ability to work in a high paced work environment.
- Capable of operating various motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
- Computer literate with basic PC platform and understands basic office software including Microsoft Word,
