Overview
A leading distributor serving the automotive industry located in the Greater Chicago, IL area is seeking an experienced Marketing Director to join our growing company.
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's marketing strategy to align with business goals, analyzing market trends and customer needs, managing the marketing budget, and evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives through performance analysis.
This is an on-site position based out of out Elgin, IL facility and will report to the CEO / President.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s marketing efforts to drive sales and brand awareness ranging from digital, print, media and social media to market research and direct marketing.
- Review current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies.
- Analyze key marketing performance metrics and provide market research, forecasts, competitor analyses, campaign results and consumer trends.
- Work with both the sales and marketing departments to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new customers and keep current clients.
- Analyze sales performance in comparison to the marketing budget in order to find the profit margin and which campaigns were most effective.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the company.
- Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts customers.
- Create best practices and using insights to develop and implement marketing plans across the business.
- Build strong relationships with managers across the business.
- Oversee coordination with external agencies.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree business, sales, marketing or industry experience.
- 5+ yrs experience in the marketing field. Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies & managing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels. Proficient in online marketing, social media, content marketing, SEO / SEM, email marketing, analytics, and other digital tools.
- Experience with catalog and direct mail marketing.
- Strategic Thinking : Able to analyze market trends, identify target audiences, and develop effective marketing plans aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Leadership and Team Management : Excellent leadership and team management abilities to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication skills.
- Analytical and Data-Driven Mindset : The ability to analyze marketing data, metrics, and KPIs.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
