Speech Language Pathologist :

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus After 1 Year of Service

Pay : $115,000.00 per year

SLP Clinical Fellow :

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus After 1 Year of Service

Pay : $110,000.00 per year

Job Summary :

Using a parent educational model in the Early Intervention program, a Speech Language Pathologist will help the client develop or regain physical or mental functioning by implementing programs to improve speech delays, conditions and feeding issues.

The Speech Language Pathologist performs other administrative duties as may be required in support of the program goals and objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Developing ideas, plans, and procedures for initiation, expansion, improvement, and evaluation of therapy programs.
  • Completing initial evaluations and re-evaluations for patients in the program; examining the condition of patients and analyzes their needs;

determining the need for a speech / language / feeding therapy evaluation and selects and administers appropriate assessment tools to evaluate the patient.

Interpreting evaluation data and writing comprehensive reports that reflect strengths and barriers to client participation;

directs program development; and guides evidence-based intervention.

  • Preparing reports and attending multidisciplinary case meeting to decide and review the continuing treatment.
  • Maintaining clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines and agency system policy;

adhering to federal and state regulation, and policies that affect speech / language pathology practice.

  • Managing case assignment dictated at the discretion of Capability Health’s needs in the Early Intervention and outpatient clinic programs.
  • Uses professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision making in practice.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and exercise discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Participating in continuing education for professional development to ensure practice consistent with best practice and to meet Nevada Licensure requirements.
  • Participating in monthly staff meetings; attending staff trainings.
  • Managing patients with different types of personalities
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • May be developmentally and behaviorally challenged.

Qualifications (education, training, experience, licenses)

  • Initial certification by National Board for Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Qualified candidates must have graduated from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program and have a valid / active SLP license from the State of Nevada.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of the federal, state local legislation, regulations, policies and procedures that mandate and guide occupational therapy in practice required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, frequently talk or hear, reach with hands, lift arms above and below shoulder level, occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift and / or move up to 75lbs. On regular occasions lift and / or move up to 50lbs and can request assistance if needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include : close vision.

Working Conditions

This position will require up to 80% travel within the service delivery area.
