Responsibilities for Accounting Assistant
- Calculate liabilities and prepare monthly reconciliation reports of sales tax liabilities
- Prepare and file various sales tax returns
- Verify and prepare Sales Tax Credits as required
- Verify supplier invoices to orders and receipts
- Take supplier deductions when appropriate
- Process orders for billing
- Calculate and apply freight to orders and releases
- Enter orders / releases and process for billing as needed
- Print / run and distribute invoices / credits and various reports
- Sort / distribute incoming departmental mail and take outgoing departmental mail to mailroom
- Code and enter supplier credits for payables
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications Accounting Assistant
- Good communication skills including verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening
- Well organized
- Detail oriented
- Problem Solver
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of or experience with PC, Microsoft Office software, various printers, facsimile, copier, calculator, multi-line phone
- Minimum of an Associates Degree in Accounting
- Desired experience includes 1-2 years’ experience in the Accounting field
Salary $37,440 - $45,760 depending on experience
