Senior Consultant (Generative AI Engineer)

The position :

Apex is seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Generative AI Engineer. The role is hands-on and intensely focused on developing advanced deep learning models for real-world Generative AI and NLP initiatives.

As a Generative AI Engineer, you will be at the forefront of research and development, focusing on the design, implementation, and fine-tuning of generative models.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the exploration and application of Large Language Models and Generative AI, venturing into new areas within these fields
• Should be fluent in Python and able to utilize off the shelf libraries and code as well as to alter and optimize them
• Optimize models for running on embedded hardware or scaling model parallelization on the servers
• Implementing and deploying an object detection using TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe and other frames works
• Develop and maintain NLP pipelines for risk assessment, threat classification, named entity recognition, information retrieval, summarization etc.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of NLP models and algorithms that can scale across diverse languages and dialects, taking into consideration the linguistic variations and complexities present in different language communities
• Perform experiments and comparative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of different model architectures and fine-tune hyperparameters for optimal performance
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and present solutions to clients
• Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing capacity, understanding their needs and translating them into technical solutions

Experience

• Masters in machine learning or alternatively a comparable industry career, with significant experience on delivering products using innovative NLP technologies
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with extensive background in deep learning networks using TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, or similar
• 5+ years of experience writing and deploying production quality models in languages such as Python
• In-depth experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformer architectures
• Strong innovator who understands the nuances of large language models and in-depth hands-on experience working with llms like GPT, LLAMA, BERT, Transformer-based architectures or other (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) variants.
• Proficient knowledge of NLP techniques, including tokenization, language modeling, and embeddings
• Experience in developing Gen AI applications using LangChain or LlamaIndex Library
• Experience with Vector database management systems, such as Pinecone, Weaviate DB, vector search algorithms, and LLM embedding layers
• Experience with distributed training and optimization techniques for large-scale machine learning models
• Experience in Python and CUDA is a must
• Experience delivering these models in a cloud environment and experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience in delivering multiple complex technical projects within an Agile environment
• Experience in a team based environment leading and mentoring other Generative AI Engineers
• Willingness to perform limited periodic travel (for PI planning sessions, etc.)

Technical Requirements

• Having participated in Kaggle or other DL competitions
• Relentlessly staying on top of the state of the art AI / ML papers
• Having had to deploy a model with aggressive inference speed requirements
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills..
