Key Responsibilities :
- Provide high-quality interpreting services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in various settings, including educational, community, and healthcare environments.
- Facilitate effective communication between hearing individuals and those using sign language.
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice in all interpreting assignments.
- Collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, and other professionals to support the needs of clients.
Qualifications :
- Must be licensed in the state of Iowa.
- Completion of an accredited interpreter training program.
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid understanding of deaf culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various interpreting environments and client needs.
