This is a full time, 1.0 FTE position. Shifts will be scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM.
Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. 20% of hours will be clinical practice.

We are seeking a Senior Director, Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to :
- Lead system-level operational, clinical, financial, and human resource functions and activities for APPs (NP, PA, midwife, and clinical anesthetists) across the UW Health enterprise.
- Guide and direct strategic goals and vision of the APP workforce including regional growth expansion, optimization of APPs, and sustainable patient care delivery models.
- Manage the complex interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships to assure collaboration and effective / efficient operations within advance practice providers.
- Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of a rapidly changing healthcare environment and national APP workforce demands, strategically integrating this knowledge into UW Health strategies, business functions, and resources for effective action, results, and innovation.
- Foster an environment of learning and professional growth among APP leaders and aspiring clinicians by providing oversight of APP educational programs and coaching / developing teams.

Education :
Minimum Masters or Doctorates Degree in Nursing, Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Masters or Doctorates Degree from accredited CRNA program, or Masters Degree from accredited AA program
Preferred Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Medical Management, Masters of Healthcare Administration, or equivalent
Work Experience : Minimum
Minimum
- Five (5) years of experience as a practicing APRN / PA / AA
- Five (5) years of progressive leadership / management experience in nursing or APP operations
Preferred
- Experience in an academic health system
- Experience in a multi-hospital system or integrated delivery system
- Leadership experience in managing advanced practice provider or clinical practice management
Certifications : Minimum
Minimum
If Advanced Practice Nurse* :
- Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses in state(s) of practice AND
- Active board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in area of clinical practice. These may include the following : Adult;
- Adult / Gerontology Acute Care; Adult / Gerontology Primary Care; Emergency; Family; Gerontology; Neonatal; Pediatric Acute Care;
Pediatric Primary Care; Psychiatric-Mental Health; or Women’s Health; or Certified Nurse Midwife, or as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
If Physician Assistant* :
- Active PA license in state(s) of practice AND
- Active PA board certification
If Anesthesiologist Assistant* :
- Active AA license in state(s) of practice AND
- Active AA board certification
All Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwives, and Physician Assistant applicants must have* :
- Prescriptive Authority AND an active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
- Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
