Full Time Probationary Spring 2025
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree with ability to obtain a Master's degree within five years of hire, and a graduate from an American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) accredited mortuary school.
Hold a current / valid NYS Funeral Director's License or the ability to obtain a NY License.
At least two years of recent, full-time embalming and funeral service work experience.
Two years' experience in teaching classroom and online format and demonstrate the ability to work successfully with students, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to teach online, hybrid, or traditional in person classes with a flexible schedule
including evenings and weekends.
Preferred :
The preferred applicant will possess experience with the ABFSE accreditation and
experience with program assessment practices.
Duties and / or Responsibilities : The full-time faculty-Mortuary Science reports to the Department Chairperson of Mortuary Science and performs the following duties :
- Provide quality instruction for face-to-face and online courses in Mortuary Science to include days, evenings, and weekends to a diverse student population in a manner consistent with the department's standards, accreditation standards, and with the content in the approved course outline and plan of instruction.
- Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College and ABFSE accreditation. Participate in program accreditation process, department planning and program review.
- Collaborate on curriculum and program development including creating, revising, and updating course projects, assignments, and assessments.
- At the direction of the Department Chairperson, perform duties as specified in the faculty contract.
- Other duties as assigned
The Salary for this academic year position is $52,000.00.
