Exhibits values of integrity and compassion. Full-time, 40+ hours weekly. Work weekly in three locations : Burbank, Glendale, Downtown Los Angeles

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature;

reporting patient history summary.

  • Saves urologist's time by helping with office procedures such as cystoscopies, urodynamics.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding;

keeping patient information confidential.

  • Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery.
  • Schedules in-office surgeries by making arrangements; verifying times with patients; preparing charts and consent forms.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Serves and protects the urology practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

1. Required :

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Able to speak / write English clearly and make self understood.
  • Ability to speak / translate Spanish for providers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Correct grammar, spelling skills, and legible writing.
  • Skills in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line phone system.
  • Able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
  • Tactfulness / soft spoken.
  • Demonstrate willing to adapt to change.
  • Be able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible.
  • Confident positive manner and appearance.
  • Type at 40 wpm.
  • Correctable vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, COMPLIANCE, OSHA.
