The Director of Advancement and Community Engagement is responsible for creating and executing comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns to engage alumni and donors, enhance the university’s brand, and further philanthropic relationships beneficial to Barry University.
The role combines creative design expertise with strategic engagement planning of all Advancement materials to effectively communicate the university’s mission, achievements, and fundraising priorities.
This individual will collaborate with central and digital marketing to manage traditional and digital advertising, social media, direct mailings, website and other functions to help increase, motivate and grow the alumni and donor base.
1.Collaborate with University stakeholders to identify fundraising priorities, create compelling messaging and design materials that support fundraising efforts targeting alumni and donors, to increase engagement, participation and philanthropic support.
2.Lead and develop content or materials for all University Advancement Signature Events. Includes advertising designs, invitations, sponsorship packages, photography, videography, social media, external outlets, as well as managing the inventory of swag and gifts.
Collaborate with central and web marketing areas of the University to execute on goals. Specifically manage editorial content for donors, stake holders, and materials that provide insight of philanthropic impact.
3. Manage the design process for print and digital collateral, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, email campaigns, social media graphic and website content.
Produce and archive various marketing content / materials necessary for all forms of communications out of the office of University Advancement.
4.Develop Strategies along with University Advancement Leadership for all marketing / communications directly related to campaigns and signature events while being mindful of other campaigns and events being run simultaneously by the department.
5.Oversee the production and distribution of marketing materials, including coordinating with vendors, printers and digital platforms.
Keep track of and develop and legible deadline or timeline for all materials being produced that can be shared with internal and external sources.
6.Analyze campaign performance metrics and to evaluate effectiveness and inform future marketing strategies. Report impact of trends generated from all communications released through the office of University Advancement.
7.Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and design to continually enhance strategies and approaches.
Ensure all content and materials align with the guidelines of the university, as well as its mission and core commitments.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
Preferred Bilingual / Trilingual English, Spanish, Creole
Bachelor's degree required with 5-8 years previous experience. Master's degree in business preferred.
Previous experience interpreting data and trends related to donor behavior required.
