This position is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Credentials & Access Control Systems Team by working on Software Development and Application support tasks.
Technical knowledge is required in design, development, testing, support and maintenance of credentialing, physical / mobile access software (C#, .
NET, PowerShell) and services. This position is a senior developer position, and it requires candidates to have advanced knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory (AD), LDAP, TCP / IP communications, and network authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM), and querying Oracle and SQL Server databases.
CMU’s Computing Services department is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.
You will contribute to the department by being responsible for server management within a central group supporting enterprise wide systems or within a college or division overseeing multi user systems.
Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, configuration, server security and performance upgrades to support application resource management and availability.
May be involved in the training and oversight of lower level staff.
Your core responsibilities will include :
Collaborate with members of various functional areas, including Housing and Dining Services, Facilities Management, and Campus Affairs to ensure that the application functionality meets their needs.
Design, develop, configure, test, deploy, and support new applications for Microsoft Windows (e.g. CS Gold tools, web tools, custom reports, etc.)
Technical production support for the Windows-based applications. Debug issues, work with vendors on bug analysis and collaborate with customer teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of industry experience as a professional application or systems administrator building, configuring and maintaining multi-tier, scalable, enterprise level products in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Experience writing SQL queries and understanding relational database architectures and tools.
You should demonstrate :
3-5 years of operating system administrative experience
3-5 years of systems administration experience
Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
Certifications :
MCSA - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator- Microsoft Corporation
