Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School-Girls -

Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School Girls Division (Chicago, IL) is looking for qualified part-time special education teachers to join our K-8 Student Services resource team.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching students with learning disabilities and a strong knowledge of content and intervention strategies to help students in core academic areas.

Responsibilities :

Direct Intervention :

Work 1 : 1 or in small groups with students who require additional support in academics, utilizing research-based strategies and instructional materials to address individual learning needs

Create overarching goals / areas of focus for the student, and revise as necessary

Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students’ strength, weaknesses, and areas for growth and to monitor progress

Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate efforts and provide a cohesive approach to supporting student learning

Work to modify assignments and assessments as necessary

Push into classrooms to provide support to teachers and students

Case Management :

Check in regularly with all teachers and academic support staff who service the student to ensure effective follow through and accountability

Make sure that the teachers are aware of accommodations, and gather information about effectiveness of interventions

Work with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals to identify and address complex and persistent academic, behavioral, and social-emotional challenges hindering student success

Check weekly for grade updates and missing assignments

Proactively follow up to ensure information is communicated effectively to all necessary parties

Requirements :

Master’s degree in special education preferred

Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement preferred

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in behavior intervention and learning support

Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and proactive mindset

Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
