Project Manager (construction/renovation co. $60K-$75K)
Location : IN OFFICE IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN
This role manages the projects and client communication from the time a sale closes to the start of production. It is a vital position to the production team who works in tandem with the Scheduling Assistant and Operations Manager to accomplish all these goals.
Details :
- Schedule : Monday-Friday 7am - 4pm with 1 hour lunch break
- Location : 100% in office in south Minneapolis (NOT downtown)
- Type : Direct hire with benefits
- Pay : $60K-$75K depending on experience level
Responsibilities : Scheduling :
Scheduling :
- Project scheduling for a group of 35 employees + 5-10 independent contractors.
- Sets tentative long-term schedules and specific short-term schedules.
- Determines the duration to complete a project based on paperwork from sales team.
- Orders materials and sets delivery dates to coincide with project starts.
- Creates a tentative production schedule for both the year and individual projects.
- Creates current lead time projections based on organizational systems.
- Adjusts schedule, crews, & deliveries on short notice.
- When necessary, schedule someone to meet city inspectors.
- Schedule jobs and crews as efficiently as possible considering proximity and personnel and other projects.
Interdepartmental connectivity
- Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to determine and schedule the most appropriate personnel for the job.
- Communicate both short-term and long-term schedule and proposed start dates to sales department, production department, clients, & suppliers.
- Works closely with the operations manager.
Communication :
- Sends out project information to independent contractor crews and project managers.
- Keeps a record of all client, crew, vendor communication, and special requests while the project is in the scheduling phase.
- Responsible for all customer updates before the start of a project and throughout process (backup for pm's).
- Will be the second contact person if the project manager is unavailable.
- Field customer calls regarding scheduled jobs, questions, requests and concerns.
Permits and materials :
- Confirm that all necessary paperwork has been completed before the start of the project, such as permits, waivers, affidavits, and special orders.
- Assist the project managers with coordination to make sure the crew has what it needs before it starts (materials, delivery date, special orders, dumpsters, equipment & cranes).
- Maintain organizational strategies for inventory, suppliers, sub-contractors, municipalities, and other production related support.
Requirements :
- Smartsheet experience - highly preferred (they use this for scheduling)
- Construction industry is (preferred - not required) or logistics also works
- Experience working with multiple projects / duties simultaneously
- Great with multitasking
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge : Word, Excel, & Outlook
- Possess client-facing soft skills
- Works well in a team setting and sharing responsibility (everyone works together as a team in this office)
