We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
Job Summary :
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
You will provide support, assistance, and encouragement to help them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.
You will enable the individual to live Independently and be productive in the comfort of their home environment.
Providing one-to-one direct support services to adults with Autism and intellectual and / or developmental disabilities
Key Responsibilities :
Providing one-to-one direct support services to adults with Autism and intellectual and / or developmental disabilities
- Personal Care : Instruction and training related to personal health and Hygiene.
- Household Support : Instruction and training with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks.
- Support an individual with various challenges (behavioral, physical, communication, etc.) within their home and community.
- Transportation : Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings if needed.
- Skill Development : Assist clients in developing independent living skills, such as cooking, budgeting, personal hygiene, and accessing Medical and Dental services.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, activities, and incidents.
- Advocacy : Advocate for clients rights and needs, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services or related fields preferred.
- Had 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be comfortable in using multiple computer / mobile device programs.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and be listed on the Home Care Aide Registry. (We can help you with this)
- Negative TB testing and CPR Certificate (We can help you with this)
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written plan of Care / Aide Plan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
