About the Opportunity :

Schedule :

  • Full time / 40 hours week - Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm
  • Varied on-call Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 am to 4 pm - Weekly hours vary but could work up to 40 / hours week.

Pay Rate : $21.00 to $21.85 (depending on education & experience)

Location : Sagebrush Day Treatment, Bend, OR

About the position :

Works under the direct supervision of the Day Treatment Skills Trainer Supervisor in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skills-specific therapeutic services for school-aged youth in the day treatment program.

Within the guidelines and direction established by the supervisor, provides education, direction, and modeling to assist client with their treatment goals for implementing identified evidence-based therapeutic interventions, assisting with academic instruction, and providing skills training for all clients in the program.

Must be able to provide emotional support, leadership, and direction to all clients. Consults with team members, agency personnel, and family members regarding current client issues.

Accountable for providing supervision and trauma informed care of clients in the Day Treatment Center. Implements treatment programming in a classroom environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.

  • Engages in positive and appropriate relationship-building with clients, their resources, and coworkers.
  • Ensures safety, security, and confidentiality of clients in classroom and community-based settings.
  • Facilitates and leads Individual and group skills training with the clients in accordance with the Client’s treatment plan.
  • Monitor and document client progress toward goal attainment in accordance with agency standards and complete professional documentation as required by agency policies.
  • Provide education and modeling of behavioral management techniques to client and adult caregivers modeling professionalism, effective communication, problem solving and decision making that promote clients Restorative Services goals.
  • Understands and participates in the treatment process (from assessment to discharge), including interdisciplinary communication, family engagement, documentation, and relationship building.
  • Demonstrates understanding of risk management procedures, protocols, policies, and interventions related to high-risk client behavior.

This is achieved through policy review, formal testing, training compliance, and validated observation which demonstrates these competencies.

Demonstrates cultural awareness and works toward cultural competencies for the organization.

About You :

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :

  • Demonstrates the ability to administer medications to clients when needed, per TFS policy.
  • Completes and keeps current all training required for the position.
  • Demonstrates an ability to creatively and collaboratively problem solve in their daily work with clients, their resources, and coworkers.
  • Demonstrates an ability to use good judgment with clients, their resources and coworkers, within the guidelines of policy and Trauma informed care principles.
  • Monitors and documents client progress toward goal attainment in accordance with agency standards and complete professional documentation as required by agency policies.
  • Participates in monthly supervision with direct supervisor and participates in staff meetings with day treatment team.
  • Models, coaches, and counsels’ clients regarding skills as outlined in individual treatment plans.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of agency policy and procedures as well as the treatment process.
  • Assists clients with guidance in the process of reaching identified treatment goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of family systems and processes, and how to work with individuals in a family system.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or equivalent education / experience.

Top 3 Must Haves -

  • Ability to be available M-F during program hours for full time - Available and at least two (2) days a week for on On-Call positions.
  • Experience working with youth, K-12, in mental health and or school settings.
  • Willingness to learn about client treatment plans and apply varying interventions.

Preferences (not a must) -

  • Desire to further their career in the mental health field.
  • Experience developing or leading activities for youth.
  • Experience developing and planning activities.
