Inspection and Packaging Technician I

Job SummaryAssist in visually inspecting, labeling and packaging pharmaceutical products. Area Of Responsibility Assists in performing visual inspections, labeling, assembling and packaging of liquids, suspensions, and lyophilized pharmaceutical and dermatological products in vials, ampoules etc.

Cleans up labeling and packaging assembly equipment and facility as neededComply with all policies and procedures related to personal safety and job area safetyMaintains manufacturing records and completes all required paperwork / documents to comply with Federal Regulations and FDAReports variance or deviations from standard procedures to department managementStocks materials utilized by the departmentOperates semi-automatic inspection machine, vial label applicator and box imprinting machinesOther duties as assigned Work Conditions : Controlled unclassified manufacturing / production areaWarehouse officePossible exposure to hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals Physical Requirements : Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach or push with hands and arms, talk and hearUse of repetitive motion, unimpaired manual dexterityClose vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to focusCorrectable 20 / 20 visionAbility to visually inspect small products and printBe able to sit at workstation for up to 50 minutes at a sitting for up to 8 hours per dayRequires use of appropriate personal protective equipment (lab coat, hairnet, booties, and gloves)Lifts up to 35lbs.

Education and Job Qualification High School Diploma or GED requiredBiotechnology certificate preferred or equivalent experienceAbility to visually inspect small print / printed labelsAbility to visually inspect liquid and lyophilized pharmaceutical products for small particlesAbility to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions / procedures in EnglishAbility to work independently or in a group setting Experience Minimum 0-2 years related experience Familiarity with, and the ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records, and adhere consistently to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)Works under direct guidance of the supervisor Basic math skillsBasic computer skills The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
