The Rheumatology Physician will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and by written protocols.

A rheumatology physician works in conjunction with the medical director to implement and maintain quality care programs.

Rheumatologist - diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses relating to musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions affecting joints, muscles, and bones.

Examine patients; take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.

General job duties include :

• Document and update charts and patient information to show findings and treatments
• Order tests and consultations for other physicians or healthcare staff to perform
• Review test results to identify abnormal findings
• Conduct research to look for the causes of and better treatments for rheumatic diseases
• Recommend, design, and implement a short or long-term treatment plan including joint / tendon injections, referrals to physical or occupational therapy, etc.
• Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
• Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper care and hygiene
• Management of services in accordance with established Clinic's policies / procedures and contracted service under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines
• Family Practitioner - Diagnose, treat, and provide preventive care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Examine patients;

take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.

• Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care in triage situations
• Provide case management with other health care team members
• Recommend, design, and implement a long-term treatment plan
• Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
• Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene
• Management of services in accordance with established Clinic's policies / procedures and contracted service under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines

Required Education / Experience and or Licensure / Certifications

• Working knowledge of e-scripts
• Active California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board Eligible / Certified
• Current BLS Certification
• CPR Card (Adult, Child and Infant)
• Medi-Care & Medi-Cal Provider
