Test Lab Manager

SUMMARY :

The Material Handler assists with the production, distribution, receipt, and quality check of product, which is this pulled from inventory and delivered to production areas.

Communication and organization skills are essential for the Material Handler position. Reports to the Department Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Responsible for all Test Lab operations :
• Directly oversees scheduling of test lab staff, equipment and other resources to ensure that customer test schedules are met, staff have clear understanding of daily work and any scheduling conflicts are resolved promptly with affected parties.
• Maintains an accurate and up-to-date schedule of all test lab equipment and resources; ensures this schedule is available to all customers and interested parties.
• Oversees test lab staff :
• Hires, trains and mentors new employees
• Maintains high standards of conduct for test lab staff and holds staff accountable to these standards
• Ensures staff workload is appropriate and sustainable; responsible for overall staff well-being.
• Directly oversees the accuracy, completeness, and on-time-delivery of all test lab reports and / or test data.
• Coordinates preparation of quotes and cost estimates with customers and test lab staff.
• Ensures that preventative maintenance and calibration is completed on all test lab equipment.
• Develops and maintains the annual budget for test lab operations.
• Implements and maintains a 5S methodology in the test lab.
• Maintains, in conjunction with test lab chief engineer(s) established Standard Operating Procedures associated with laboratory testing processes.
• Maintains and manages laboratory and equipment qualifications, certifications, and accreditations.
• Ability to communicate, both in written and verbal form, across all departments and all personnel levels.
• Ensures environmental Health and Safety controls are in place and effective.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Required Education : Associates Degree
• Preferred Experience : 3+ years of experience as a test lab manager overseeing schedule, budget, personnel and equipment.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools such as MS Outlook and Teams. ERP experience (especially EPICOR) is desirable.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the use of stairs, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 lbs
