Assist with entering journal entries in the General Ledger system. Assist with preparation of Retaliatory Tax worksheets
Responsibilities :
- Process examiner billing invoices
- Sort Revenue Unit Mail and enter filings and cash receipts in the system
- Process Licensing and Corporate affairs checks
- Manually file various paper filings by filing type and company
- Add new Excess Line Brokers in the system
- File corporate tax forms
- Other duties as assigned
- Perform routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties for financial records
- May check accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings by other workers
- May perform various analyses
Qualifications :
- Highly organized, careful worker, self-motivated, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
- Knowledge of Office of the State Comptroller policies and procedures
- High level of discretion handling confidential matters
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Word processing skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of basic accounting and financial record keeping procedures
- Understanding of financial terminology
- Ability to compute, classify, and record numerical data
- Albany, NY 12257 : Relocate before starting work (Required)
Benefits :
- Overtime is possible but not likely
- Position is not eligible for telecommuting
- Pay : $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
- 8 hour shift
