Job Description
The operator of the Punch and Pack process will be running an under the direction of the Punch and Pack Specialist III. This system is an automated system that punches and packages sandpaper disc.
The operator will be supporting the Punch and Pack Specialist III responsible for change overs, loading of material, quality checks and process flow of the automated system.
In addition to the supporting the Punch and Pack Specialist III the Punch and Pack Operator will also be responsible for the running of the packaging portion of the machine.
As an operator, you are expected to maintain a positive work environment by following the appropriate safety procedures.
This position will also be required to cross train & step in as the Specialist III during any absenses on their part.
Qualifications
Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly
General Math skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to stand for 8 hours
Ability to read and follow instructions
Ability to lift (up to) 40lb. boxes
High School Diploma or GED required
Prefer experience in machine operating
Additional Information
Assist in loading rolls of sandpaper on machine as needed
Operate pin lift, pallet lift, and hoist
Assist in the set up and start up of the machine and operate successfully
Assist in making adjustments to machine as needed
Assist in the troubleshooting of machine issues and assist with repairs according to escalation plan
Reading and following standard operating procedures pertaining to the machine being operated
Follow the appropriate quality standards and measures for the machine being operated
Understand and following procedures pertaining to machine cleanliness and tool organization (5S)
Maintaining knowledge of all safety procedures associated with the machine being operated
Machine has a feeding system by clamp beam working on idle conveyor, the system is motorized. The feeding clamp beams are placed one before and one after cutting head.
Touch screen parameters provide the possibility to set material width in between the cuts (trim), to have the minimum waste as possible.
A recipe menu provide the possibility to save machine setup data for each combination : shape size, master web width, material type, etc.
The operator has only to recall the desired recipe to start a new machine setup.
