Job Description
Certification Details
- Current / valid Drivers License / State ID or government photo ID required.
- ACLS required for certain specialties such as Cath Lab, CCU, CVICU, Dialysis, ER, ICU, etc.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support for L&D RNs.
- BLS - Basic Life Support, AHA only required.
- PALS for specialties like ER, PACU, Pediatrics, PICU.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure for specialties like L&D, NICU, Nursery, Postpartum.
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course.
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring required for L&D RNs.
- Tech Cert Verification - National for various tech roles.
- State License 1 Verification for active LA License or Compact License.
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN / LVN, AP).
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute for Observation, CNAs, ER, ICU, Psych & Behavioral Health.
Job Details
- Registered Nurse Travel / Contract position available at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
- Unit will accommodate 1st timers that have 2 years experience.
- Patient Diagnoses include Chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, PNA, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope.
- Potential for med-surg overflow, such as GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID+.
- Special Procedures / Unit Details include Pre / post cath lab, PPM / AICD, ablations, vascular surgeries, Titration of drips;
Sheath pulling at bedside.
Job Requirements
- BLS certification.
- Telemetry experience.
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- On unit monitoring.
- CABG experience.
- Chest tubes knowledge.
- Post angiogram, MI, Cardiac Cath, and sheath removal experience.
- Port accessing skills.
- Blood product administration.
- Central line, Peripheral line, and PICC line care / management.
- Starting IVs, titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive drips.
- Isolation precautions.
- Wound care / management.
Schedule Information
- Every other holiday requirement.
- Can be pulled to all other inpatient units.
- Unable to guarantee any specific scheduling requests (e.g., block scheduling).
Unit Specific Information
- Special Equipment required : Telemetry monitoring, Chest Tubes, PCAs, Epidurals, Wound Vacs.
