About The Position
- Job Title : CT and Rad Tech Job Specialty : Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Variable (Shifts may include 700-1530, 800-1630, or 1300-2100, rotated with staff;
- Backup call usually from 1630-2300; Night call Thursday-Saturday from 2300-700) Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 2+ years of clinic experience License : Active state licensure as required Certifications : ARRT (R) Certification;
CT certification preferred Must-Have : Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)- Ability to perform CT procedures Job Description : Provide health care services by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
- Perform radiographic imaging, computed tomography, and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
- Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.- Provide appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
- Work under the supervision of the Department Manager in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Corroborate the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for the licensed practitioner.
- Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Operate radiographic and computed tomographic equipment and accessories, selecting the appropriate program for the desired protocol.
- Position patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Assume responsibility for the provision of the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.- Verify informed consent and assist a licensed practitioner during interventional radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CT procedures.
- Understand methods and perform venipunctures; prepare, identify, and / or administer contrast media and / or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner (as permitted by state statute and institutional policy).
- Evaluate images for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and provide hard copy records ensuring proper identification is recorded.
- Maintain archival storage of digitized data as appropriate.- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.- Provide patient education and assist in maintaining patient records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
- Report equipment malfunctions and participate in maintaining the department’s quality assessment and improvement plan.- May provide practical instruction for students and / or other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in department quality control duties and maintain knowledge of and observe standard precautions, patient relations skills, and pursue appropriate continuing education.
