Test Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Test Engineer with a strong focus on executing web application testing and performing data verification and validation using SQL.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the testing lifecycle, with a focus on automated testing using Selenium, Java, and the Cucumber framework.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test suites across UI, API, and database layers, ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of the web application in an Agile environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the QA Manager, Functional Analyst Lead, and development teams to comprehend requirements, develop comprehensive test plans and scripts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities :

• Implementation of Automated Test Scripts by adding repeatable quantitative measures for critical user and data paths. Quality measures include test coverage, functional testing and end-to-end testing, and performance and load testing
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, and Cucumber framework.
• Create and execute unit tests using JUnit and manage performance testing with JMeter in conjunction with Selenium.
• Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger to validate service responses and interactions.
• Manage and document test cases and test results in TestRail or Xray, ensuring full test coverage and clear reporting of test outcomes.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub, ensuring rapid feedback and collaboration with the development team.
• Perform data analysis, data validation, and data verification using SQL development skills, ensuring that data is correctly processed and stored within Oracle / PostgreSQL databases.
• Perform database testing using PostgreSQL, ensuring proper data validation and query performance.
• Collaborate with development and product teams using Jira for defect tracking and Confluence for documentation.
• Support testing efforts for Angular-based UI applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to Agile practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Test Engineer with a strong understanding of the application testing lifecycle.
• Strong front-end and back-end testing skills
• Proficient in SQL development for data analysis, data validation, and data verification.
• Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum.
• Experience in manual testing and database testing using tools like PostgreSQL and SQL Developer.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium test automation, with proficiency in scripting using Java and Cucumber framework.
• Experience with Jenkins for test suite execution and integration in CI / CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of software quality assurance, including test planning, script development, and execution.
• Experience with microservices-based software architectures and associated testing methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve test discrepancies and technical anomalies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

U.S. Residency Requirement :

• Must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
• Must be able to pass background investigations and obtain Public Trust clearance.

Good to have skills / Certifications :

• Agile certification.
• Familiarity with AWS hosting environments and Angular-based UI testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar defect and task-tracking tools.
