About This Opportunity :

FPA is searching for a Full-Time Staff Engineer to join our team. The individual will report to our Newark , NJ office . In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to support field operations, data collection, testing, and project management across a wide range of engineering disciplines.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your career in the engineering and consulting industry.

Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with both the geotechnical and highway / traffic / municipal teams, providing opportunities to delve into diverse engineering disciplines as the Newark, NJ office operations grow.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Assist senior engineers in conducting field investigations, surveys, inspections, and assessments.
  • Perform tests, measurements, and data collection using advanced equipment and instrumentation.
  • Analyze data and prepare engineering and inspection reports and documentation.
  • Conduct on-site visits to document and assess existing conditions to identify site constraints and limitations.
  • Review RFI's and contractor's payment applications in coordination with senior engineers and project managers.
  • Provide office support by assisting with project planning, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain databases, templates, and worksheets to streamline data management and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met within established timelines and budgets.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and standards at all times.

What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental, or related field).
  • Internship or coursework experience in engineering or related fields is beneficial.
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification, preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and GIS tools, preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices, preferred.
  • Experience with field data collection techniques and instrumentation, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
