BASIC FUNCTION :

Coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.

This position reports to the Director.

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY :

Has responsibility or authority limited to the direction of student assistants and interns .

NATURE AND SCOPE :

Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students both within the Center and University-wide. External contacts include government agencies, organizational partners, vendors, visitors, officials and the general public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Coordinate activities of Women’s Center initiatives and programs with interrelated activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.

Develops and coordinates activities of the Center, including program planning, community-based outreach, meeting setup, and general administration.

Confer with and advise staff, students, and others to provide technical advice, problem-solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation;

refer to the appropriate department person when unable to respond.

Identifies public and private grant opportunities.

Prepare or assist in preparing proposals for funding and / or funding continuation from outside sponsors.

Prepare periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.

Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implementation; analyze results and recommend and / or take appropriate action.

Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings.

Develop, compile and write communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, brochures or flyers;

coordinates process from development through printing and distribution.

Update the website with program-related material.

Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communications.

Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff, and outside / community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of student interns and assistants.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database programs, and presentation software as well as internet searches.

Ability to develop action plans in resolving and implementing organizational and operational problem goals.

Ability to plan and prioritize activities in an office setting.

Ability to work in a small, lively office environment and meaningfully contribute to team projects.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse population.

Ability to work under pressure and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to meet deadlines consistently, particularly those requiring very quick turnaround.

Organized, self-directed and self-disciplined.

Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students and the community.

REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s Degree required and relevant 1-3 years of experience. 8 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.

Expected Pay Range : $63,636 - $70,000
