Promote digital media services and instructional technology use and innovation in support of the teaching and learning needs of the University’s faculty, students, and staff.
Provide professional development, training, and support to faculty in instructional technology for use in both face-to-face and hybrid course delivery models.
Provide knowledge and expertise in the areas of software programming and analysis, specializing in library technologies and services.
Maintain discovery and access to the vast and rapidly growing print and electronic holdings of the library. Support the research and learning needs of the University by ensuring that the catalog and related services and systems are properly maintained.
Offer reference assistance to campus constituencies and teach information literacy and instruction classes as well as basic circulation duties.
Essential Duties :
Perform original and copy cataloging for library materials in all formats, including books, CDs, films, serials, e-books, or other documents based upon cataloging standards including Resource Description and Access, Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, Library of Congress subject heading policies, Library of Congress Classification and OCLC MARC.
Utilize and assist with updating and maintaining technical services cataloging procedures.
Manage the digital collections including the selection, scanning, input, and cataloging of materials.
Perform ongoing maintenance and development as well as troubleshooting for all library and archival systems, including OCLC WMS, OpenAthens, ArchivesSpace, and CONTENTdm.
Maintain library databases including those included in GALILEO as well as standalone resources from vendors such as Oxford, EBSCO, ProQuest, Digital Theatre Plus, Kanopy, and Swank.
Manage the library website.
Monitor industry trends and best practices related to information access and discovery, and recommend improvements to existing tools and workflows as appropriate.
Collaborate with librarians and colleagues across the campus on committees and projects to support library services
Provide leadership in solving problems associated with the ILS and discovery services
Monitor feedback from faculty, students, and staff to continuously improve digital media services, instructional technology uses and innovation and corresponding delivery methods.
Provide on-call and / or emergency response and support as needed and reference assistance and teach information literacy and instruction classes.
Serve on Instructional Technology Committee and other faculty and staff committees as assigned or elected.
Qualifications :
An ALA-accredited graduate degree in librarianship.
Minimum of 3 years professional experience providing direct support and management of library systems and services platforms in an academic setting.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, oral and written communication, and creative problem-solving.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Experience with learning management system, preferably Canvas.
Experience supporting systems and applications within a library setting.
Experience using an integrated library system, preferably OCLC Worldshare Management System.
Experience with OpenAthens, Shibboleth and SAML authentication protocols as well as ArchivesSpace.
An active awareness of new technologies and the impact they have on a rapidly changing library technology landscape.
Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of collegiality, respect, trust, and teamwork.
Ability to troubleshoot issues pertaining to the use of technology.
Evening and some weekend work is required.

Work Environment / Physical Demands :
The position is in a normal office environment; an alternative work schedule may be required; typically requires sitting at a desk or table and repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement;
occasional lifting up to 20 lbs; use of office equipment will also be required.
