Occ Summary

Plan and provide professional nursing care fo r patients in accordancewith the medical and nursing plans of care and e stablished policies andprocedures.

Provide nursing services to patients andfamilies inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the Nort hCarolinaBoard of Nursing.

Work Performed

Plan, provi de and document professional nursing care, utilizing thenursing process, in accordance with physician orders and establishedpolicies and procedur es under the supervision of the team leader orcharge egate task s and supervise the activities of other licensed andunlicensed care prov ist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care.

Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipmentan d material resources. Prioritize work organization and identifyresources available to assist in completing components of care in atimely manner.

P articipate in own professional development by maintaining requiredcompet encies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassistance ore ducational port the development of other staff and formalle ticipate in the identification of clinical or operational perf ormanceimprovement opportunities and assist in performance improvementac form other related duties incidental to the work described h erein.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception : Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date.

Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
