Summary

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting IT applications and for ensuring the availability, stability, and reliability of those applications.

They monitor system performance, identify, and resolve technical issues, and ensure efficient operation of all clinical systems.

The analyst also provides technical support to end-users and collaborates with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems related to clinical systems.

This role is directly aligned with the Epic implementation, specific to third party applications that will be needed to integrate with Epic in the revenue cycle space.

The Epic IT Systems Analyst is responsible for configuring and maintaining the Epic revenue cycle system in conjunction with other external software solutions to meet the specific needs of our healthcare organization.

The position will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement changes.

The Epic analyst will perform system testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to ensure the integrity and functionality of the software while developing and maintaining documentation related to configurations, workflows, and best practices.

A key element of this role will be participating in various adjacent project efforts with vendors to ensure positive alignment between Epic and other systems with a focus on stability and sustainability.

IT Systems Analyst I

Job Requirements

Education

Preferred : Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Required : 2 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows
  • Knowledge of at least one clinical IT systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), laboratory information systems (LIS), and other related applications.
  • Ability to follow project plans and details.
  • Attention to detail in data entry and documentation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the healthcare environment and adapt to project specific requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of project management concepts and tools.

IT Systems Analyst II

Job Requirements

Education

Preferred : Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Experience

Required : 4 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills

  • Knowledge of more than one clinical IT systems, including system configuration and optimization.
  • Participates in project planning, requirements gathering, and user training.
  • Effective data analysis skills and reporting for project purposes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with department resources.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead small to medium size projects related to clinical systems implementations / optimizations.

IT Systems Analyst III

Job Requirements

Education

Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Experience

Required : 6 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in multiple clinical IT systems, including systems configuration, customization, and optimization.
  • Ability to lead medium to large size projects related to clinical systems implementations / optimizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with department resources and management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including cross-functional teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills during project phases.
  • Compliance with project management methodologies and quality assurance standards.
  • Contributes to project risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Provides mentorship and leadership to junior analysts.
  • Stays current with skills and emerging industry trends.

Job Requirements

Education

Preferred : Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Experience

Required : 8+ years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills

  • Mastery of clinical systems and their role in clinical operations.
  • Ability to lead large scale project implementations
  • Knowledgeable of clinical systems integrations with other technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with clinical leadership, executive management, and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team including cross-functional teams, and external departments.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior members of the department.
  • Strategic thinking and alignment of clinical systems with organizational goals.
  • Thought leadership in healthcare IT trends and innovations.
