Overview
Located in The Spa at Thunder Valley, the Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to Guests of Spa at Thunder Valley, and effectively provides wellness solutions to meet their needs.
Essential Functions
- Be responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s "Winning Attitude" company-wide culture and demonstrating AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
- Be prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
- Properly open and close each shift according to standard operating procedures.
- Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
- Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
- Be flexible with schedule, supporting the needs of the Spa.
- Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
- Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the Spa’s policies and procedures.
- Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required.
- Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment, and inform management when stock is low.
- Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
- Actively promote the Spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions, and discounts as available.
- Develop professional relationship with regular guests in order to provide personalized service tailored to individual Guests’ preferences.
- Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of treatments, packages, services, treatment contraindications, facility features and hours of operation.
- Handle Guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Maintain complete confidentiality in all Guest matters in accordance with company policy.
- Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by Guests.
- Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the Spa.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
- Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
- Be responsible for knowing the location of the Safety Data Sheet binder and understanding the Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals used within the Spa.
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in Resort Spa environment.
- Must have current State License.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities and possess a general understanding of body treatments.
- Must be willing to train in the Spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
- Enjoy working with people and display a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements :
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of shift.
- Must be able to perform the duties of a massage therapist which requires standing, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity, and proper ergonomic posture.
- Must be able to lift and move at least 20 lbs.
