Position Description :

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - GI Anesthesiology Division

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its Adult Anesthesiology Division.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, working directly under the supervision of our Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists.

Specifications :

• Preferred Experience : Previous CRNA experience in Anesthesiology
• Minimum Education : Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
• Candidates can be either a Certified Registered Nurse Anethetist or board eligible for certification as a CRNA
• Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience : adult healthcare; previous CRNA experience
• Wisconsin APNP license
• AHA BCLS and / or ACLS required

Responsibilities :

• Administer general and local anesthesia
• Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors , including testing and calibration
• Prepare patients to be effectively monitored
• Monitor patients under anesthesia
• Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans
• Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure that they are recovering well
• Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care.
• Provide direct patient care before, during and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality.
• Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
• Review the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient / family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviews
• Administer / order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
• Work with Anesthesiologist s to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure
• Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
• Perform varies administrative duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients / families pre or post procedures
