Job Title : Community Outreach Specialist

Time : FTE 35 hrs. per week

Hours : 8 : 30 AM 4 : 30 PM, Flexible evenings and weekends

Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement outreach strategies that engage community members.

The Community Outreach Specialist will work to build strong relationships, promote programs and initiatives, and ensure our organization's mission and goals are effectively communicated to the community.

Responsibilities :

Develop Outreach Strategies : Create and execute outreach plans to connect with community members, organizations, and key stakeholders.

Build Relationships : Establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and other relevant organizations.

Promote Programs and Initiatives : Effectively communicate the organization’s programs, services, and initiatives to the community through various channels such as events, presentations, social media, and outreach campaigns.

Collaborate with Team Members : Work closely with internal teams to align outreach efforts with organizational goals and objectives.

Collect and Analyze Data : Track outreach activities and outcomes, collect feedback, and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of outreach strategies.

Advocate for Community Needs : Serve as an advocate for community needs and interests within the organization, ensuring that community perspectives are considered in decision-making processes.

Educate and Inform : Provide information to community members about resources, services, and opportunities available through the organization.

Event Coordination : Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and meetings to engage residents and stakeholders.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, public relations, social work, sociology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in community outreach, public relations, or a related field.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of community resources and local issues.

Proficiency in using social media and other outreach tools.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of disability and cultural sensitivities.

Familiarity with CRM software and data analytics tools.

Previous experience in advocacy or community organizing.

Case work experience or knowledge
