Whitt Carpet One Floor & Home located in Salem, VA is searching for a talented Design Sales Consultant to join their showroom.

Their talented and experienced team of industry professionals are here to help clients with their next projects. In 2023, Whitt Carpet One Floor & Home updated and expanded its showroom making it a Room by Room Carpet One store adding technology and redesigned displays to better serve customers.

The dealership is diverse in its product offering as well as its client base, working on projects large or small, residential, or commercial.

What We Offer :

• $1,500 Signing Bonus!
• Compensation : $800 weekly + Commission
• Earning potential of 50K to 70k+ annually
• Full Time : 40 hrs. / 5-day work week
• Monday to Saturday - must have availability to work alternating Saturdays

Responsibilities :

• Mange time between showroom and prospecting for new business
• Provide outstanding service to determine customer’s overall flooring & design needs
• Build strong client relationships and conduct follow up on all jobs
• Schedule appointments for showroom, home, or workplace consultations to meet with clients
• Keep up to date on the wide selection of products & services provided
• Gather space / area measurements and calculate number of materials
• Create & present project proposals to clients for approval and conduct quality control for all active projects
• Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications, availability, sampling needs, and order materials for active projects
• Maintain showroom by keeping samples, displays and common areas neat, current, and clean

Desired Skills & Qualifications :

• Minimum of 2-4 years’ proven work experience in Retail Sales, Interior Design, Outside Sales, or similar role
• Valid driver’s license & a reliable form of transportation (REQUIRED)
• Be able to pass a background check (REQUIRED)
• Strong math skills (REQUIRED)
• A positive attitude & desire to exceed expectations
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media
• Utilize various forms of communication to follow up with vendors / suppliers & clients
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, yet within a team setting
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Strong personal and professional judgment
• Ability to adapt and respond quickly to customers’ needs and wants
• Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority
• Ability to achieve sales goals effectively
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Advanced time management skills & detailed oriented
• Ability to read floor plan drawings & create project estimates a plus (Willing to train)
• Knowledge of flooring & design industry a plus (Willing to train)
• Knowledge of RFMS & Measure Mobile a plus (Willing to train)
