About The Position
Job Title : Cath Lab Technician Job Specialty : Cath Lab Technician Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 7 : 00 a.
m. - 3 : 30 p.m., 40 Hours per Week Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum 1 year of experience License : RT-R ARRT or RCIS Certifications : BLS Must-Have : Experience with Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab procedures Job Description : Assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system.
- Perform active physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and saturations.- Anticipate changes during cases to provide necessary information, such as catheter position.
- Accurately identify and communicate patient condition changes to the physician and team.- Routinely perform patient testing and / or monitoring, including oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, hemodynamic calculations, and other intra-procedure testing.
- Demonstrate knowledge and variation of procedures, including the equipment and supplies used for performance.- Demonstrate proper handling and preparation, maintaining asepsis throughout.
- Anticipate and adapt to physician and case needs.- Assist with room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure cleanup.
- Ensure infection control and sharp safety procedures are adhered to regarding waste and reusable products.- Provide patient education regarding post-procedure monitoring and care of the catheter insertion site.
- Offer instructions and information regarding activity, including normal, variant, and issues requiring intervention.
