Attendant Care Worker
The Attendant Care Worker delivers interactive, community-based mental health services to children and / or adults. Essential responsibilities include providing support services such as mentoring, emotional support, life skills training, and personal care to clients. Complete timely and accurate documentation as per Health System / affiliate policy. Interact with clients in a positive and supporting manner. Coordinate with the appropriate clinical staff to facilitate the treatment plan outlined for the client. Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients / clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.
General responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned. This position entails overseeing and guiding team members, encompassing employment decisions and / or suggestions, as well as conducting formal performance assessments.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, must be at least 18 years of age and at least three years older than the youth. Required licenses / certifications include a current BLS / CPR card from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first (based on location licensing requirements), Kansas Driver's License (if position requires driving), auto insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas Insurance requirements (if position requires driving), and successfully passing KBI, DCF, child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and routine motor-vehicle screens.
Preferred qualifications include two years of experience working with adults or children in a health-related field and experience working in a KDHE facility.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include strong organizational skills and basic computer skills.
Physical requirements include light work : occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
