The position will provide job readiness and coaching support to individuals recently released from federal prisons in gaining employment.
May include outreaching area employers and maintaining relationships with employers and organizations that commit to hiring second chance individuals.
Ensures all services are data entered according to policies and procedures accurately and in real time as service is provided to the job seeker in the appropriate case management system.
Job Description
Provides comprehensive career assessments to determine occupational interests and aptitude. Identifies
training and development needs, current level of vocational skills, employment history, interests, and abilities to
assist jobseekers in understanding career options based on their long-term career goals.
Influences and empowers job seekers and program participants to find employment. This includes
recommending helpful workforce programs and services at the local, state, and federal level that customers are
eligible to participate and enroll in. Conducts intake process and completes program eligibility for grant funded
programs.
Link customers to community-based organization and offer supportive resources to address barriers to
employment (criminal background, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Homelessness etc.
Guides job seekers through the career development & exploration process. Helps determine occupational
interests and abilities using a wide range of workforce tools, such as aptitude assessments, interviewing
techniques, resume writing, and other career planning services.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates or Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Previous related workforce experience preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals in the Corrections or Probation department.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance that meets the State of TX requirements required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Knows the Dallas Area or can get to destinations using maps / GPS.

The position is Monday through Friday from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm.
The hourly rate of pay is : $ per hour.
UP to 25% travel within Dallas County
- Extensive standing, sitting, computer, phone, and deskwork required; some kneeling and lifting of up to 10 pounds required;
- work primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours, although flexible hours including overtime may be required;
interacts one on one and in groups with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
