Who we are looking for :
We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to be based out of Albuquerque, NM. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for overseeing daily quality activities of the production site.
What you'll do :
- Document, review, and validate the DMS system.
- Maintain quality procedures outlined in the Quality manual.
- Approve raw materials, once received.
- Approve finished goods.
- Disposition of suspect material.
- Document NCM.
- Maintain daily paper paperwork.
- Establishes goals for QA employees and development plans.
- Review and validate daily paperwork and support daily pre-shift meetings, including safety and quality topics.
- Ensures day-to-day quality requirements are met and reports NCM, suspect material, and scraped material.
- Identifies process and reliability improvements and leads improvement implementation projects.
- Document, label, and approve material.
What you'll bring :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 3-5 years' work experience or a four-year degree in the specifics of engineering;
work experience should be in a production and or quality environment performing the essential functions listed above, including supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with thermoplastic extrusion and / or materials with a quality focus.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
- Must be able to function with minimal day-to-day supervision, at a high level with detailed quality focus and support production targets of in specification product.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead employees to assure company goals and results are met.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or other similar software.
- Proficient with lab equipment and documentation processes and procedures.
- Supervisory experience, people skills, ability to manage a complex working environment.
- Thorough knowledge of safety principles and federal / local regulations; includes knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Quality management systems, GMPs, and ISO 9001.
- Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects consistently.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid, current driver's license and vehicle insurance.
Within 3 months, you'll :
- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
- Gain an understanding of your team.
- Complete a plan for process improvements with information gained in first 90 days.
Within 6-months, you'll :
- Ensure your team understands their role and identify opportunities within the department to improve
- Utilize the Atkore Business System for alignment and continuous improvement
Within 12-months, you'll :
- Develop, coordinate, and / or conduct job-specific process improvements to ensure all maintenance personnel are trained on their job functions.
- Work closely with Operations Leadership, Manufacturing Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors, and Engineering to ensure processes are accurate, documented, and changes are made and communicated.
- Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase manufacturing efficiencies.
